Meet Emma Weekes - Senior Physiotherapist

MSc Hons Physiotherapy, AACP Western Medical Acupuncture, IIST Sports Massage, Qualified Yoga and Pilates instructor, HCPC PH75001, MCSP 075366
Emma is one of those rare physiotherapists whose combination of qualifications, experience, and clinical expertise gives her an exceptional depth of understanding of the human body and how it moves. Holding a Master's degree in Physiotherapy alongside a degree in Psychology, Emma brings both technical expertise and genuine understanding to every client she works with.
Throughout her extensive career, Emma has worked across neurology, orthopaedics, elder care, intensive care (ITU), surgical rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal (MSK) medicine. This broad background allows her to confidently treat a huge range of injuries and conditions, but she has a particular specialist interest in shoulder and knee problems, as well as pre and post-operative rehabilitation. Her experience working in orthopaedics covering both trauma and elective surgery gives clients reassurance that they are in highly capable hands throughout every stage of recovery.
Emma's approach is holistic, practical, and empowering. She believes people recover best when they truly understand what is happening in their bodies and leave each session feeling confident, supported, and in control of a clear treatment plan.
Her treatment style combines hands-on therapy with movement rehabilitation and education, drawing from a wide range of skills including sports massage therapy, western medical acupuncture, BAHT hand therapy, yoga teaching, myofascial release, joint mobilisation, postural correction, and exercise prescription.
Passionate about helping people move well and get the most out of life, Emma enjoys working with a wide variety of clients - from active individuals managing injuries to those rebuilding confidence and strength after surgery or persistent pain.
Outside the clinic, Emma has lived an active and adventurous life herself. With a background in martial arts and competitive surfing, she now enjoys yoga and surfing for fun, while also having explored weight training, running, swimming, rugby, surf lifesaving, horse riding, and snowboarding along the way. Despite the impressive list, Emma is known for being relaxed, approachable, and full of energy, and she is often heard laughing and genuinely enjoying sessions with clients in the gym.
When asked what she enjoys most about her work, Emma says it's "building relationships and really going on a journey with someone" - something her clients quickly recognise from the moment they meet her.
What our customers say:
L. Kate
I honestly can't put into words how incredible Emma has been with me. I have
been seeing her due to disc injuries and could barely walk when I first attended,
especially with my right leg. Month after month she has supported me, treated
me, and genuinely helped me get my life back.
Her knowledge, care, and patience are on another level. She explains everything
clearly, makes you feel completely at ease, and you can tell she truly cares
about your progress.
I'm so grateful and couldn't recommend her and the JB physio team enough!
C. Retallack
I can't recommend enough, I love coming to JB physio, the whole team is so
friendly and helpful, Emma has been helping me with my back, neck and shoulders
that were incredibly tight and painful, in just a few sessions it was feeling
almost 100% better, she also gave me lots of stretches and technics to take
away and do at home to keep the stiffness at bay. I now I come once a month
for upkeep. I can't thank Emma and the team enough!
