Liz Cavell Profile
Chartered Physiotherapist, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy M.C.S.P
Liz graduated from the University of Manchester in 2000 and from there built her experience within large NHS teaching hospitals, GP surgeries and private practices all over the UK.
She was fortunate enough to spend 2 years working with pioneering shoulder surgeons at the Reading Shoulder Unit, gaining invaluable experience in the treatment of all manner of shoulder conditions. From there she developed a keen interest in rehabilitation and went on to qualify as a Clinical Pilates Instructor; she worked part-time in a fully-equipped pilates studio to build up her skills. Her experience in rehabilitation and biomechanics helped secure her the role of Bike Fitter for Specialized, a job she enjoyed doing alongside her physio practice, for 10 years.
Liz is experienced in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions but she particularly enjoys helping those with longstanding or recurring shoulder, neck and back problems. Her other areas of speciality include pregnancy related musculoskeletal conditions and women’s health.
Liz has a holistic approach. She believes our daily lifestyle choices, behavioural and movement patterns and postures have an impact on our health and wellbeing and brings this into her treatment.
Outside of work, Liz is usually out and about in all weathers – cycling, running, swimming, attempting to surf, walking the dog, skiing – with family, friends and their dog. Always keen to learn new things, she has just taken up the piano!
